Chris Vaughn Company: 2026 Spring Update

Updated: 2 days ago

The few weeks have been an especially productive stretch for The Chris Vaughn Company, with multiple projects moving forward across development, packaging, and long-term company strategy.

On the film side, NINE TERROR DRIVE  has advanced into its next stage of development after strong partner feedback helped push the script forward.

What began as a contained psychological horror concept has now been sharpened into a more focused, market-ready project with a clear production path.

The screenplay has gone through meaningful refinement, the logline and poster language have been tightened, and the budget model has been positioned around a realistic low-budget horror approach that can still deliver strong atmosphere, performance, and commercial value.

NINE TERROR DRIVE has evolved from a contained horror concept into a polished, commercially viable psychological thriller with a clear path toward production.

The current focus for NINE TERROR DRIVE  is building the project into a serious pre-production package: script has been completed, visual identity, budget range, producer-facing materials, and a contained production model built around one primary location, a small cast, practical horror, and efficient execution. Following strong third-party development feedback, The screenplay has advanced into a more refined package, with the screenplay, visual identity, budget model, and pre-production strategy now aligned around a contained, commercially viable psychological horror film.

The goal is not simply to make a microbudget horror film, but to develop a disciplined, elevated genre project that can attract the right partners. Sidebar: This project is close to home for Chris, so the entire team is coming along side him, encouraging at times, while sometimes just straight twisting his arm. 😆

At the same time, Lucky Bastard continued its premium indie packaging track. Updated screenplay work, budget review materials, and line-producer-facing documents have been developed around a controlled $5.5M–$7.5M production model, with careful attention to cast value, locations, production design, and the emotional spine of James “Lucky” Fitzroy’s story. The goal remains clear: build a serious, actor-forward thriller package that can speak to producers, financiers, and talent without losing the soul of the script.

Behind the scenes, Chris also continued strengthening the broader company foundation. The Feelin’ Lucky mission remains part of the long game — faith, family, fatherhood, music, and comeback — while the company’s public identity keeps expanding through writing, pitch materials, community outreach, and future-facing development work.

There has also been quiet but meaningful progress on the private side. Legal appropriations, trust-positioning work, and high-level financial architecture have continued to move in the background with discipline and restraint. Some doors are not meant to be explained before they are secured, but the work has been steady: preserving rights, protecting the Messer Trust, and preparing stronger lanes for future funding, banking, and production leverage.

The Chris Vaughn Company is not waiting for permission to build. It is refining the scripts, sharpening the packages, protecting the foundation, and preparing to move from development energy into real-world execution.

The work is alive. The direction is clear. And the next chapter is being built now. See Sister Article exclusively on LinkedIn by clicking the image below.
