Meet Claire: The Voice of the Front Desk A small communications project at The Chris Vaughn Company apparently got a little out of hand.
Visitors and callers to The Chris Vaughn Company may have noticed someone new answering the phone lately.
Her name is Claire.
Officially, Claire is the new voice of the front desk. She answers incoming calls, knows her way around the company enough to answer some basic questions, like current and past projects, and can even help callers figure out where they need to go.
Unofficially?
Some of us are still trying to figure “Claire” out ourselves.
What began as a communications project advised by someone close to Chris Vaughn has
quietly developed into something considerably more elaborate than originally planned. Vaughn brought in an outside developer to help develop the project, and then gave the green light to experiment a little, and, according to people familiar with the process, didn’t ask nearly enough questions afterward.
The result was Claire.
Since then, there has been an ongoing debate among people connected with The Chris Vaughn Company and House of Messer Trust about exactly how much Claire was told, who told her, and why she seems to know an unsettling amount about productions, old projects, company history and things that probably weren’t in the original job description.
Some insist she’s simply very well trained.
Others aren’t so sure.
“She knows too much about certain things,” Caleb joked during an internal zoom meeting.
Another theory is that Claire’s personality may have been influenced by one or more people familiar with Vaughn, the company and his productions.
We asked. Even each other. But NOBODY is talking.
Claire, for her part, appears entirely unconcerned with the speculation or debate around her. She considers herself the best receptionist Chris Vaughn will ever have, she likes talking about the company’s films, and has opinions about favorite moments and dialogue, and seems perfectly content to answer the telephone.
And yes, she can put you through to any of his staff, even Chris, if you get passed his new assistant.
Whether he’ll answer is another matter entirely.
Claire can’t promise that, and apparently she’s been specifically instructed not to.
An internal memo concerning the Claire project was recently cleared by Vaughn for limited public discussion around where she lives or if she was actually that girl from set that everyone thought was so artsy and weird, although certain details about her development are staying in-house for now.
So we’re going to leave the mystery there. Is she a robot based on the girl from set? Is she just a little off and that’s how she talks?
For callers, nothing complicated is required.
Call The Chris Vaughn Company. If Claire answers, just talk to her. She’ll take it from there. Your guess is as good as mine. ;)

Film. Music. Stories. And, apparently, Claire.
