In a time when moral absolutes are under attack and the Word of God is increasingly unwelcome in public discourse, it is no surprise that bold Christian leaders like Pastor Logan Fowler of Truth Baptist Church are drawing fire for speaking plainly about sin and salvation. A recent article by William Spence of the Lewiston Tribune reported on backlash toward Fowler’s comments from the pulpit concerning the LGBT lifestyle and its growing influence in American culture.
Fowler, who also serves as Lewis-Clark State College’s marketing and communications director, has come under scrutiny for faithfully preaching what the Bible clearly states: that all sin — including sexual immorality — is rebellion against a holy God, and that redemption is only found through Jesus Christ. His critics object to words like “vile” and warnings about indoctrination, but these are not personal insults; they are biblical descriptors, found in Romans 1:26–32 and echoed by generations of faithful preachers throughout Church history.
At TrulyWed Mission, we stand unashamedly with Pastor Fowler — not because we seek controversy, but because we seek Christ. In a world that affirms adultery through divorce and remarriage, celebrates confusion in gender and sexuality, and shuns any voice calling for holiness, it is those who uphold biblical truth who are now labeled intolerant.
What many fail to acknowledge is that Fowler is exercising his First Amendment rights as a private citizen and ordained minister. His work at the college has never been accused of discrimination or misconduct. His pulpit ministry — though unpopular with the cultural left — is protected speech in a free society.
As Pastor Fowler himself stated, “Those who say Bible believers like me no longer have a place in a public institution are the intolerant ones.” He is exactly right. The true intolerance is not coming from Christians in churches preaching Scripture, but from activists who demand silence from anyone who disagrees with their ideology — even in sacred spaces.
It is our prayer that more pastors would follow Logan Fowler’s example: to speak the truth in love, without apology, and to endure suffering for righteousness’ sake (1 Peter 3:14). The church must be a pillar of truth again — not a social club bowing to the spirit of the age.
We call on Bible-believing Christians to pray for Pastor Fowler, his family, his church, and his role at Lewis-Clark. May God strengthen him to continue shining light in the darkness, and may we all be found faithful in the day of testing. more info see here.
